Title: One Brake Line Not Getting Fluid
Post by: darkfact on April 23, 2019, 08:15:16 PM: I decided to flush my brake lines and replace the fluid. Three of the lines bled very easily. My rear drivers side is not getting any fluid. I disconnected the line from the caliper and from the junction on the center rear beam to bypass the hose in case it collapsed internally . No fluid at all and the break pedal is hard. The line is not pinched anywhere. Any suggestions? Is it a clogged line or maybe a bad master cylinder?

But there is fluid going to the other side, interesting. Tee must be stopped up on that side.

Post by: chukT on April 27, 2019, 10:09:21 AM: These brake systems are a bit unusual. The proportioning valve is built into the master cylinder, and the brakes are linked diagonally, not axle to axle. The right front and left rear are in one circuit and the left front and right rear are the other.

Check again that you have good flow through the right front.

Is the brake warning light on?

Post by: darkfact on May 03, 2019, 05:57:39 AM: I've confirmed that each wheel bleeds with no problem except for the left rear. I disconnected that line from the master cylinder and no fluid came out. I think that indicates a master cylinder problem and not a clogged line. I'll have to try replacing it.

Post by: darkfact on June 16, 2019, 10:04:25 AM: I fixed the problem by replacing the master cylinder. Now I have fresh Castrol Full Synthetic Dot 4 fluid and it stops great. Still has the early 90's economy car brake pedal feel but it actually stops very well.
