Hi,
I'm a bit of a mechanical novice and have recently purhcased a 1990 SA Turbo. I need to remove the rear boot (trunk) lid spoiler for painting, but can't work out how to get it off.
I've removed a couple of rubber grommets from under the boot lid but can't see any fasteners.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks (http://smile.gif)

There are 6 bolts that you need to remove, I believe they are 8mm, although they could be 10mm (I don't remember!). Unless someone beats me to it, I can post pictures tomorrow night of their locations.
I know this isn't much help, but I do not have a Capri nearby!
Again, I'll post detailed pics tomorrow night of the locations!

there are access holes thru the trunk lid frame, there are three on each side where the spoiler mounts. I think two of them are kinda tough to get at

Thanks very much for the replies guys. Will have another look but would really appreciate the pics Russ when you have a chance (http://smile.gif)

As promised, here are the pics. two are of the outside of the boot lid, just to help you position them. The last two are from the inside of the lid:

Thanks Russ - will post some pics when I get a chance. @ of the bolts on each side of the spoiler were philips head and came out easily. But one on each side looks like a back the front threaded bolt with a slot in the bottom. Can't get those damn things out yet. THey are stuck fast and not sure which way they turn. I checked our other Capri and it has exactly the same ones. Aaaah! - will get it eventually (http://smile.gif)
Love your website by the way - the cars are awesome - you're a lucky boy to have so many!

Sounds like a previous owner swapped bolts, or Ford used different fasteners for AU-spec cars.
You call me lucky for having so many(we have 14 now)-everyone else calls it crazy!!

Hey Russ! Nice to hear I'm not the only "NUT". When my roomate talks to her friends about me and my Capris, the words Nut and Crazy are usually very prominent in the conversation. Gus.
