Title: Another LSD option?

Assuming that we use G-series trans...I thought we did, but I have forgotten. Either way, what do you guys think?

The differential used in that guide is the mazdaspeed LSD and it has 28 splines for the axles. The xr2’s 26 spline axles won’t work with that differential.

So unless you’re doing a V6 swap with FT2 axle like me, that differential is going to require custom parts to be made in order for it to be used.

Well, shit. You're actually doing the v6?

Yeah, it's project GTZ.
I figured I was probably the the first to do a BP swap in a capri, so I may as be the first to do a V6 too...LOL

IIRC the diff can be made to fit, but a lot of the trans case has to be ground out to make it fit, which isn't really ideal. The case is weak enough as it is.

Pretty sure the MSP diff has a very poor reputation for performance and reliability amongst the Protege folks

I guess for the price, those mfactory ones aren't a bad idea. Above used one yet?
