Title: 15TH MACG
Post by: Ricksservice on January 18, 2016, 01:57:09 PM
Rick and I are planning our 2016 activities and was wondering who, where and when the 2016 (15th) MACG.  I am already sick of winter and ready for warm weather.... And to get our babies out for a ride....  Who is with me?

I've been wanting to go for so damn long, but something always came up. Where might this meet be?

There ARE plans....The 15th MACG is 8/6 in Crete IL, same location as last year, I believe...I will post more info as I get it, or go to www.CapriGathering.com (http://www.CapriGathering.com)

Good to know Russ are you hosting it again? Also is there anything that i should plan for/bring since this will be my first MACG?

I am not....Todd & Zach are hosting again this year (they hosted last year, and put on one hell of a show!)

As for what to bring....just bring whatever you would normally bring on a weekend away from home...if you can stuff your trunk full of spare parts to sell, feel free to do so!
As soon as the date is set in concrete (this thread WILL be updated), make sure you get a hotel room, or you have a "buddy" you can room with - trust me - it sucks spending the weekend sleeping in a Capri, especially if you're over 4' tall....
Make sure you are prepared to have the best time you've had in a long time....start working those facial muscles now, to prevent cramping at the big event from excessive grinning....

This year, the largest gathering of Capri convertible enthusiasts IN THE WORLD, will be in Crete Illinois on August 6th.  Todd and Zach hosted last year and put on a great event, so this year should be even better.  Please mark your calendars.  for all of you who have never been to an event, you have to come, and for all of you who haven't been to an event in a while, what the flick is your problem?  Get you a$$ to Crete on the 6th.

Has anyone heard that the 15th MACG is cancelled? Zach refunded my registration. He said that a Diane might be working on it.

Is there a kickoff time? I need to know when to head out from Michigan. Looking forward to seeing everyone there and picking some Capri brains too!

Matt, bring me a MAF to cone filter flange if you have one made up. Or whatever you've been making for aftermarket air induction. Hope you haven't left home yet. Also, have a safe trip and see you there.

Im leaving early AM and planning on arriving ~9pm tomorrow. I have no adapters made up :( sorry.
I will probably be doing a very large casting run once I get back home & settled - working a new job that does not leave me much time at the moment. We'll talk!

Matt, it was good to see you again and to pick your brain on turbo issues. Too bad the rocket ship couldn't make it - I've only seen it in pictures. Let me know when you get some parts made up.

I wish I would have seen the posts about the gathering, I would have loved to attend.
Please do upload lots of pix.  I'd like to go next year.

So am I correct in assuming that you cannot just bolt on a cone-style or Uni foam filter directly to the MAF sensor?  If one were able to do this, what size inside filter diameter would work, 2.5"?

Correct. You need an adapter. There are some cheap ones available.

I made / make a nice aluminum one. I've been meaning to redesign it to make it easier to produce

Will this adapter work?
