323 as a doner car ??

Well I went to see the only Capri parts car in the local 'Pick & Pull' yards. It was a 5-speed so no luck there.
They had several '88 Mazda 323 cars though. A couple were automatic.
Do you see a problem with using an auto-trans out of a 323 in my Capri? I'm up againt a wall here without an auto-trans.

Being in Dallas Texas isn't exactly in the center of the supply areas you guys are talking about. Plus I'm not refering to a 'simple' repacement... custom conversion, which is why I need access to a doner car. which is why I'm hoping the 323 will work for me.
