Looking for cruise control.
« on: May 28, 2008, 08:19:00 PM »

Hi,

Does anyone know if later model original cruise controls can be made to fit the older models which didn't come with them?

I'm in Australia and looking for an inexpensive cruise control for a long highway travel to work. Don't think they came standard over here until 93/94???  An original fitment one would be better I guess rather than an aftermarket one, but does anyone know if earlier ones are lacking in the wiring loom department for one of these?

Can't seem to find any original second hand ones from wreckers etc. over here.

Was cruise standard in US models? WOuld a US model fit an Aussie model?

WE have a 1990 SA Turbo.

Any help appreciated

Hey Rickster! Cruise control came on all 4yrs of Capri here. They work fine. You'll need the throtle cable with the cruise module and steering wheel with buttons. The rest would be part of the wiring loom here. Don't know about there. The steering wheel here might have some differences on the plastic moldings and the colors. they are findable in the wrecking yards here if you are persistant or Russ may have something available. Check your local forum members about your questions.  Good Luck.  Gus.
