Transmission Issue?
« on: March 20, 2011, 09:19:00 AM »

Hey Fellas,

I was on my way into work this afternoon and had an odd experience. I was cruising along at about 70 MPH and hit the gas to get around a big truck and it felt like the car wasn't in gear for a second. RPMs went way up for a second and then I took off and all seemed fine. This happened a couple weeks ago in second gear as well. Seems like it just slips out of gear and right back in again. No grinding or strange noises.

Is this a clutch or transmission issue?

Thanks for your help!

That sounds like your clutch is slipping. Does it slip a lot down low?

Nope, it has only happened once in 2nd gear. I have noticed that it stutters quite a bit when starting out in 1st, though. Probably the same thing?
