Switched motor off and 10 minutes later returned and motor wouldn't start. Checked voltage going to coil and had 12 vdc. no fire coming from dist. waited a couple of days and tried it again and it started right up. Any ideas?

Could be your ignitor in the Distributor. Did the tachometer bounce when you tried to restart the car? It's a little random that it would quit like that.

Thanks Rocketman for your reply. I don't remember noticing the tach while trying to crank. I remember something like this when I purchased the car. As I remember then I had turned the car off and tried to restart and it wouldn't crank but after turning the switch off and on a couple of time it restarted.
