Reich Racing ECU upgrade vs Rocketmans ECU chip. What is better, and which can you safley add boost, and then have dyno tuned at a later date?

DO NOT ORDER  ANYTHING FROM REICH!!!!! They stopped fullfilling orders over a year ago, but had no problem continuing to take the $$!!  I hear they just started issuing some refunds, but, come on, a year later????
Rocketman's chip is great! I've had one in the Super Roo for about a year, and have had no issues!!  HUGE difference in the cars performance!
I say support the people who support this forum!

Hey Greg! Reich has a very poor rep. There has been numerous cases of forum members here and on other mazda related forums not getting paid for goods. Gus

Hey Greg!  Also I had a Reich ECU in my car and melted a piston. I did not have a wide-band AFR gauge on my car to monitor things at that time. I "suspect" the afr's might not be rich enough but will never know as I currently have a rocket-chipped ECU in place.  Gus

I bought a Rocketchip and although it isnt working correctly, he is sending out another ecm and chip to correct the issue.

To me that is great customer service which is hard to find these days. I would recommend one since he stands behind his product and the work he does on them.

besides rocketman's car... mine was running the prototype, and eventually a production chip. I've never had an issue with them at all

Hey Greg! You won't be getting it tuned other than timing adjustment. The dyno will tell you if the AFR is in range and then give you torque readings through the rpm range. From the torque readings come the horsepower conversion. Get the wide-band gauge installed first and watch your readings under power. They should stay in the 11.00 range, no leaner than 12.50, maybe 11.50. Then do your dyno. Personally I wouldn't do the dyno until all or most of your mods are done. Bigger intercooler for example. The dyno is more for bragging rights until you're getting into serious race tuning, trying to get that last 2 or 3 H.P. Doing the dyno numerous times can be trying on the wallet.  Gus

greg, a wideband comes with a bosch lsu 4.2 oxygen sensor, and all you do is REPLACE your cars o2, with the one it comes with, and it has a wire that will go to the single wire that USED to run to your stock o2 sensor... I run a AEM UEGO wideband and i think its the best thing since sliced bread... no extra boxes, or controllers.. just the guage, the o2 sensor, and two wiring harnesses...
(one to the o2, and one for power, and the extra wire for stock o2 to ecu)
i found mine on ebay for 200.00 shipped and thats a good price...

and in the future, it has plug ins for standalone computers, and data logging equipment...

as for the ecu, let rocket tune you a chip...
hes a real person, and if you go to a meet or the MACG you can actually talk to him...

I currently run the 3rd option
...the corksport ecu, actually made by the faceless company EL PROTOTYPES...dont get me wrong, it does exactly what its supposed to.. but its not like if it didnt, i could just call EL.. id have to go through corksport.. who is a standup group and sells only top quality stuff.. but still a hastle just the same...

i also have a 7500 rpm rev limit on my car...
which if i were cammed with a hardened valvetrain, would be great.. but on the stock lifters 7200 can float valves and is a scarry thought...

anywho, let rocket hook you up...hes a friend i aint even met... but without him my car would still be sputterin in boost and all that jazz...

heres a good word for a good guy....
