B6T turbo manifolds for almost any turbo
« on: October 20, 2009, 02:59:00 PM »

Not sure if most of you know about JGS tools or not. Matt told me about them when I was talking to him about getting a turbo manifold made. Their kits looks solid and they have pretty much every turbo flange covered.

I will be ordering my manifold from them when the time comes. Again big thanks to Rocketman for the info.

damn you matt!! should I just send a monthly payment to you for parts as you release them?

Once the exhaust and wideband go on to the turbo manifold portion of the build. I want to build my intercooler pipes around the turbo I use which I know wont be a stock type.

what time frame are you looking at on the manifold and what flange? T3/T4?

Hey ICU! Instead of those manifolds, why don't get a tube header from those guys in Carolina. You'd be better off. If you want a log header, I have one already. It's for a Miata. You'd have to cut it at the head flange, flip the tube bundle and have it rewelded. Gus

Well Gus I plan to keep my a/c and a equal length turbo manifold would not be possible with the a/c lines in the way. Logs actually flow decent enough for my needs. 250whp is what I am shooting for and that is no problem on a log.

Thanks for the offer on the BPT manifold you have, but it would cost me a little under what their kit would run to have someone make that work for me. If Matt gets started on the cast unit pretty soon, I may just hold out for one.

Oh Matt when you say t25/t28 are you talking DSM t25/t28 or nissan? If its DSM then the 16g will work which would be great! Keep us posted

Hey ICU! This header I mentioned of may allow keeping of A/C. I believe it fits with-in the footprint of the original manifold. Go to XR2 parts listing in the forum dated April 23 2009. Prodigy Fab. Mark is the contact name. Maybe he can Email a picture to you as it is no longer posted and he can answer any questions. I've been in touch with him a couple times back in may and june, I just haven't made the deal yet because of other circumstances. Anotherwords, I've joined the long list of broke-dick capri owners. The Miata had a 1.6 too. Thats the manifold he's refferring to. You will not get 1.6 and 1.8 manifolds to interchange. Bolt pattern, port spacing, and port size are totally different

If you go on ebay they're usually sold by OBX, they're topmount manifolds for the RWD Miata. You can get one for the 1.6, do some cutting and re-welding and end up with a semi-hackjob log style manifold.

Dont count on my stuff being available anytime soon. Looks like my work foundry (iron) could be down for the count. I'll still be doing my aluminum stuff.

aluminum turbo manifold FTL  =(
I talked with the mandrel bend guy today Matt and he said that since the machine is currently setup for 2.5" pipe that it would save me a $250 setup fee. He said he charges $23 per bend and $4 somthing per foot for the exhaust work. Said I should come out for $300-400 on the high side but more than likely be lower.

He also said he would consider doing the turbo manifold and would have to look at the setup. I am going to try and swing by this saturday to have him give me a price on the exhaust work.

Anyone else here down for a 2.5" mandrel bent turbo back (includes 2.5" downpipe)? if so send me a pm and I will give you pricing this weekend hopefully.

my welding guy here said he would make a manifold as well. i am sure it would be under 300. he said he would prototype my car and go from there.

i am looking at moving my fan to the front side to free up space when i do it.

i am thinking top mount would work...

thats what this is

Yeah Aluminum won't work for turbo manifolds. I'll prototype in it cause its easier to work with but thats it. I'm thinking about running iron at home on a larger scale but its a hell of a lot of work.

FWIW, I have a $100 chinese welder, fitted with a $15 sheath from a much more expensive welder, it gets the job done

I did my entire turbo-back exhaust including my active exhaust trickery, flanges to seperate sections, and flexpipe for around $140 in parts

Wont make a turbo manifold (or will it? muahahaa) but it does very well for basic exhaust work. Definately something to look into if you want your stuff just right on your car, only way to do it
