Did a quick google but couldn't find any info on it.
That's undoubtedly the first time I've ever heard of a Ford (conv) Capri being AWD from the factory.
I'd like to know more about its specs if you don't mind. Do you have a link?

ya, i never heard of it either. only special capri i know of is the club sprint. there were some racing capris done, but they were after market, in the idea you could not buy them stock from the dealer like that.

Ford  only built 3 as design/engineering studies.  The only surviving one is in the Ford Discovery center in Geelong, AU.

An AWD capri was built by ford ford testing purposes. It is on display in the ford discovery center in Geelong. I have take pictures of as much of the driveline as I could. Have posted these pictures on http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/capriconvertiblesocialclub/ Hope these inspire!

well guys this is old Topic but i just finished the project    ) 3000GT with vr4 conversion .From fwd auto to AWD 6sp twin turbo . i am running 14 PSI and mods are stage 3 clutch , aluminum flywheel, stainless steel manifolds , 3" precats , 3" downpipe and dual 3" cat back, aluminum crank pulley , CXracing FMIC with 2.5" piping , turbo pre-intake piping , type-S bov , GM-3bar Map Sensor , 4 piston front calipers with 13inch drilled/sloted rotors , and 2 piston rear calipers with drilled rotors , coil-over springs- kyb Gr-2 shocks , AWD DELETE , 255 walbro fuel pump and i think that is  all

its is not Capri but its awd conversion , and it's possible

I already completed capri AWD conversion

Have fun with that aluminum crank pulley, they're notorious for killing motors due to runaway harmonics. Best off swapping back to the stock harmonic balancer...
