Great day
« on: March 16, 2010, 02:52:00 PM »

I took the toy out for a drive today for the first time this year.  Some kid wanted to get into a loud stereo contest at a light, I don't know who won, but I didn't hear his.  After about 10 mins driving around, I started to get permagrin.  Every spring, I'm reminded why I keep her.  It felt nice.

It was such a nice day here... The GTXR2 has no coolant in it for unknown reasons, and my gearbox is also low on fluid  :(  wheel bearing is in dire need of replaced. SOON! Soon I will be out there to dominate the roads again...

Went for a couple hour drive today and have almost burned up the last of last years gas.  It was windy, but it still felt good.  I really do enjoy my car.  It will be nice to go the the 9th Annual Mid-America Capri Gathering this year.  For those of you that have never been, take the time.

Pulled my 93 N/A out of the garage this am onto the frosty grass.  A bit brisk driving into work, top down, but it should be great at lunch.

Reminded me why I bought it in the first place

High 6o's to low 70's today here on the coast of washington!!! The red rocket was seen running around today. My lowering springs got here on wed, going to buy some sweet 17"s tomorrow, (will need tires). The place I bought the springs (h&k) sells different types of spacers also, I haven't really looked at the info yet. Probobly run the 205/40/17's like ya'll said to run. Found a guy who builds subaru turbo racing engines here in town. I now have him interested in the rocket. He seems real informed, almost like he knows what he's doing!  Things are coming together, I hope I can get ti together before the show. It would be nice to make it and meet all you fellows, and gals. We will have to see when it gets closer!

I had a great day in Springfield, IL today.  Took the '94 XR2 out for a drive - what a blast!  I drove the '93 NA last weekend.  I guess I like each one for its own qualities, but getting into the XR2 after the N/A is always a rush.

Kelly - when you say "show", are you referring to the MACG?? If so, you would have the all-time long distance award, I believe!

It snowed last night and is 34 degrees this morning.  I'm glad I had a couple days to take the toy out.  Last year it was cold and rainy all spring and summer.

Its 56 degees and sunny in Cleveland - finally ventured out to the storage facility.  Put in the battery, inflated the tires and it started on the first turn key and as a bonus no mice friends moved in.   Going to enjoy the top down today before the weather turns cold again next week.  hope other cold weather capri owners are finally enjoying driving their cars again!

I drive my '91 N/A year round although I don't drive it in the rain or after a fresh snowfall.  I've been bummed because I think this is my last year driving the car.
It has to be emissions tested in December and I'm pretty sure it won't pass because the last test cost me $867 and it only passed by 4 parts per million.  I'm thinking that in the 2 years of driving since the last E-test my 4 parts per million buffer between passing and failing has been erased and then the car will be up for sale or junked.  Which, of course is terrible because I love the car, it still looks great, runs like a bear and will still get 35 mpg on the highway.  Hell, even the A/C blows ice cold.
Stupid laws.
