hey guys right now my capri pulls to the left when i accelerate and back to the right when i let off.

i just got new tires and new half shafts and an alignment done. and a couple weeks ago my car would make a popping noise on the passenger side in the front when i hit the brakes.

any ideas to what would be causing the pull?
thanks guys

I believe youre experiencing torque steer...which is quite prevalent with our capris... but someone correct me with I'm wrong. If it is torque steer then I wouldnt worry as its normal.

did u get the brakes looked at? you posted nothing about them being done as well.

do you have a turbo or non? if its a non turbo its not the oversteer. I would launch like crazy in one and it would do nothing.

XR2 yes...strut bar can fix that

Probably not torque steer- that would make the car pull to the right..... I've never had one pull to the left under acceleration, and I've driven dozens!
I could be wrong, but just my 2 cents.

Yeah,as I said...I might be totally wrong. But just curious...what dictates it pulling to the right...i mean mechanically.

It sounds like a busted swaybar link. When broken the car will pull pretty agressively to one side.

Also wouldn't hurt to have the alignment checked.

Neither of my XR2's ever torque steered in any one given direction, it depended on the road where it would go.

when mine did that, the bolt that held the swaybar on had broke. SHOULD be simple.

no my brakes werent done i replaced my pads about 6 months ago.

i replaced the endlinks for the sway bar with ones from energy suspension in the front and rear.

its the xr2 i get torque steer but never like this before im not even accelerating hard when it happens. it happens during normal driving.

at first i thought i was the alignment but i went and got it done and nothing changed. the car drives straight until i get on the gas a lil bit to accelerate and ill feel the pull

How are your control arm bushings? Struts? It's not normal for an XR2 to repeatedly walk in one direction, there's something going on.

That sounds like a tie rod end or something clacking around, but if you just got an alignment they should have noticed that. Tie-rod end would definately make it go all squirrely though
