Dash paint?
« on: September 12, 2010, 04:08:00 AM »

One thing I haven't been able to stand on a couple cars is the  sun glaring off the top of the dash into the windshield so I can't see anything(like cops). Is there some sort of paint that can go over the vinyl dash like rally cars have that isn't going to peel in a year or four? I don't like dash covers either so that not an option. It's like a flat black texture type of application. Found SEM paint that might work. Has anybody tried this before?

A dash pad would be by far the easiest way without pulling it to paint, but I just think done right with non-glare paint that must last forever would look & function great. I'm thinking it could be a multistep process but don't want to try until I'm sure I'm not trashing the dash. I might try a practice run on something first. Might be cheaper than I think. Thanks DrBob
