Fuel sender resistance
« on: August 15, 2019, 08:00:29 AM »

Does anyone know what the resistance range for our fuel sender is supposed to be.  A standard Ford sender would be 15 to 158 ohms.

Unlike the Oil Pressure gauge system (which lists resistance at points on the gauge), my 93 Capri field service manual does not list resistance for the fuel gauge system.  It talks like the fuel gauge is measuring/working on amperage not resistance?  When I worked at a company that manufactured fuel senders all of ours had resistance specs for full and empty.

Yeah Greg, normally they have a low and high resistance rating.  Hopefully someone can come up with it.

Thanks, Jack Byrd
