Engine room fuse block
« on: January 10, 2021, 07:28:20 PM »

Gentlemen!

Since my Capri is still in the shop and I can’t just look under the hood, here a quick question into the room:

In the fuse box (block) in the engine bay, do I see it correctly that only the 80A MAIN fuse is “male” and the other 4 are the “female” kind?

Cheers

I'm not sure what you what you mean by male and female. The 80A fuse actually is bolted in on both terminals and the others are standard plug in (male) type.

Hi Jack!

Sorry, I was unclear in my definitions. I was using the wording from the German parts store I was looking at at the time.

The 80A (black) fuse has prongs that extend down like a big staple, and gets bolted to the long sides of the box.
The others plug into the box, where each socket has 2 prongs sticking up that then go into the fuse.
Have I got the right idea here?

Cheers

Yes, the 80A main is the only one that bolts in with terminals, the rest are female socket type
