decrypting a vin
« on: August 06, 2018, 12:19:42 PM »

hey guys, i hope someone can help me out. i just found a capri in a pick and pull online.  the trouble is it's 3.5 hours away. id like to grab the engine if it's a turbo. i called two dealerships with the vin but they said it was too old to find out if it was turbo or n/a. is there anyplace out there that might be able to decipher it? in case it can be done by looking at it, here it is.  6MPCT01Z5M8609649. thanks

That's an N/A motor in there. The eight digit of the vin should be '6' if it's turbo, 'Z' for N/A.
