Painting my 91 Capri
« on: July 28, 2009, 03:15:00 AM »

I need a little guidance.  I am finishing my daughter's '91 Capri, and would like to find an outline of the car so I could play with colors.  Does anyone have/know of anything like this?  I would try to touch up a .jpg file but that would take forever.  So I need something similar to a kids color page; out of a coloring book.  I have some ideas on color; but want to see what it might look like before we spray.  Here are my thoughts...First off the car is white.  So the main color, from the rub strips up would be white.  The remaining below the rub strips, including the front and rear bumpers would be purple...I am thinking of using the purple that you see on some old Barracuda's.  Her two favorite colors are purple and green...the red strip that runs on top of the rub strips...I would paint them a bright green color.  And last but not least...the hard top... the top middle section would be white and the two sides purple.  This is why I would like to find something that I could play with on my computer with to see what the colors would look like.  Ok here goes...what do you all think?

Dave-
I have a few things that might work for you. Let me dig them up and get them scanned into the PC, and I'll email them to you.

His shovel???  That would look great until he needed to dig a hole!! (J/K!)

Dave-
The white and purple sounds ok, but I think the green stripe would be overkill.  Post the picture when you're done with it!

On the left side of your screen, find the tab labeled "forum". Click on it.  Find the catagory your question or topic is most relevant to, then scroll down to the tab that says "new thread".
