1991 XR2 For sale in NM
« on: April 21, 2019, 08:47:14 PM »

I have a 1991 Capri XR2 with WITH Hard Top for sale. Body is in fair condition, interior is Fair, Engine needs rebuilt.
It runs great, starts right up. It has the Rocket-labs ECU mod chip as well.http://www.werbatfik.com/ecu.htm
The A/C has been removed and an idler pulley installed.
It was my project car, but I don't have space for it.
Buyer must pick up ! After seeing the lowball prices lately, I am going to take the best offer, meaning highest offer.
Post here if interested, I will check daily.
If I do not get any responses worth my time, it will go on Ebay.
Thanks guys for the great forum over the years.

Looks good, what's the problem with the engine?  How many miles?

102,000 miles, The bottom end needs rebuilt, small knock if the oil gets low. I replaced the rod bearings 30k miles ago and the knock returned @ 100k.
Still runs but I have been gentle since I heard that knock again since I was going to have the bottom end fully rebuilt.
The transmission is great, new clutch @ 70k.
Tires need to be replaced, dry cracked from the high desert climate.
New struts @ 70k. New fuel pump @ 70k.
Radiator was replaced with a metal type that is thicker than stock.
Headlights have aftermarket bulbs that take new style lamps.
Th turbo should be rebuilt or inspected, it works great but has a little oil blow by, evident at startup if it sits for a day or so.
The intake hose to the intake manifold needs to be replaced, i have it taped and clamped now.
Mostly minor issues that can be resolved with some time spent on it.
It isn't in perfect condition, and I am not expecting to get top dollar, just a fair price for what it is, a project car.
