Totalled Capri
« on: November 13, 2017, 01:07:12 PM »

I am sad to say that my 91 XR2 has been totalled. Stupid Progressive, the insurance of the girl who rear ended me, wants to pay me $1500.

I put almost $1000 in parts in it in the last year. Garage kept for 25 years and had less than 125K miles on it.

Oh wow I'm sorry for your loss, I would be devastated if that were to happen to me. Good thing is they're cheap so that should be able to buy you a new lower mileage one.

I'm going to take them to small claims court. Make them pay for a lawyer, at the least.

Just had a look at Ohio's primer just to be sure, but similar to here in CA you can't have a lawyer in a small claims case. If they choose to use one to prepare their case that's one thing, but having one is not required and one cannot be present to represent you in court.

Still, best of luck.

It's always sad when another Capri meets its demise too early.

With an offer of $1500 I would argue to keep the car so I could part it out.
