Help! Maybe a bad VAF?
« on: October 06, 2017, 08:08:33 PM »

While tinkering with an aftermarket vaf adapter from ebay I removed the two screws on the vaf plug rather than just unplugging it. Once again my curiosity has caused a problem. My 91 XR2 ran just fine before this. Now it has a check engine light, only boosts to 5 psi, and stutters under hard acceleration. When I removed the screws and pulled the plug out I noticed some sensitive looking electronics and a two wires that disconnected from the plug. I put it all back together the way it was but I suspect there is still a problem. Is the vaf now junk or have I done something reversible? Anyone deal with this before? I'm at  a loss here. Thank you in advance.

Figured it out. I had to resolder the pins inside the VAF. Runs perfect now with no check engine light.
