Needed to know if a 255 55 16 will fit the 91 capri just was looking at a good deal and after reading some of the comments on how u can put a 16 on the capri i felt i needed to ask

I would say no. The tires sound a bit too big, tellerx. Also very wide

To much tire wall. Options below would be best combination depending on width of the wheels.
205/40-16
205/45-16
215/40-16

speaking of wheels I was thinking of what size tire I should throw on the 15" gvr4 wheels.

would a 215/50/15 fit?
also a 205/55/15

Hey! I've said it many times before 195-15-55 with H&R springs. You may be able to go bigger but these look good on wheelwell fill.  Gus

If you don't want to have to worry about watching the guage for speeding to do the math on what the speed difference is between ur wheels vs the guage use 185/55-15 or 205/50-15 depending on wheel width.

It is not just tire sizes. you must remember certain tires go with certain wheel widths, and if you getting a wheels make sure the width is not to much with the offset you get. just dont bank on the rotation speed difference between your wheels and stock.
