$15K Really?
« on: February 09, 2017, 12:01:55 PM »

Has anyone seen the '91XR2 on eBay for $15,000?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Mercury-Capri-XR2-Turbo-/152429760304?forcerrptr=true&hash=item237d858f30:g:LqwAAOSw5cNYm4GJ&item=152429760304

Mine came from NY, but it has 60K on it rather than 50K.  I guess mine is worth at least $10K.

Looks to be in great condition, but the most I'd pay for it would be 4k. I did only pay 2000 for my Capri but back then it had 64000mi on it, and I'm just about to hit 69000mi.
It would be good if someone bought it that would drive our prices up.

Couple of others listed for $3500-5500 at dealers.  Curious to see what they go for, if they do.

More than a little curious because I'm thinking about spinning off my 93 N/A this spring.

I'm second owner, always garaged, ~82000, hardtop, cart ,Tonneu, 94 N/A wheels, and 94 taillights.  Put on less than 1000 miles last year.

It's pretty interesting if you use a Craigslist crawler to search the nation for the bottom sellers, then check Autotrader and eBay for the dreamers. Sometimes the same car is on all 3. It's about the worst time to sell a convertible, just past the low point of the year, but I'd say May or June is the high point for price.

Looks nice, but I've seen what looks to be similar for $2k to $3500. I agree, $4k is top $. Some guy in Detroit had a low mile XR2 up a few years ago for $12k, but I doubt if it got more than $5k.

Remember what P.T. Barnum said... There's a sucker born every minute. It ain't right to take advantage of pure ignorance though.

Well, apparently he thinks this thing has abs in it as well. Did anybody else see that?

Must be a fuckload of cocaine stuck in there somewhere for that price.
