shifter problems
« on: February 15, 2016, 03:22:47 PM »

So my shifter was pretty sloppy and buzzed a lot so i read about the bushings and was gonna change them but the other day before i got around to it the shifter sank is the only way i can describe it. I can still shift but must pick up on the shifter or it will catch. And the buzzing drives me insane

Shifter drops happen, pull stuff out of the way around the shifter top, sink a few sheet metal screws to hold it up.  Eyeball it, you'll see... buzzing may also be the heat shields around the exhaust pipe...check that out while you are under the car, add stainless hose clamps to stop the buzz...

I have the same 'where did my shifter go?' problem. Is there a correct way to fix this, or just redneck it with screws?

Go redneck... the repair is permanent, and even a show car can get away with this invisible repair
