Firstly... wow, thanks for the complimentary remark.

And if you want my 2 cents... Just go with whatever you feel is appropriate as  your build develops. It would be interesting as a reader to map your progress as you are experiencing it, including your thoughts on the build, aspirations aswell as Journaling the actual work done and pics of progress... in other words, keep up the good work  :)

Your planned build is awesome  8),  you've put a lot of really cool and stylish ideas into your plans and I'm looking forward to monitoring your progress.

Regards,

Thanks that really helped my spirits! I do have to say you're build thread is so inspiring to me. It also sets a really high mark that I hope to follow!

This build is gonna take quite awhile, if I complete it in the next two years ill be amazed. My main problem is finding the time, and lack of a second car currently. Once I get something that is suitable as a daily I plan on starting the AWD swap, but that doesnt mean I wont still be doing updates on here... I still have other things planned that should be coming soon!

I'm curious about the 16x8 rims, check out the tyre size for a link to an online wheel / tyre fitment calculator...

235 45 16 +20 offset, sticks out about 3.9 cm or 1.53 inches from outer rim for stock tyres, with inside rim fit.

You'd need flares for that... awesome !

Yup thats exactly why I chose the size of 16x8, I believe the Capri really could use fender flares plus it goes along with the Factory RS model i'm envisioning.
Also if helps with grip, so it lessens the amount of strain ill put the gearbox through.

Im pretty sure the sustained high rpm/ torque of drifting would explode the GTX transmission its that weak, but I do think it would be awesome till that happened   ;)

Those tires/offsets are going to leave you with a undesirable  positive scrub radius.

Uhuh... I figured some custom widening (cutting) of the wheel arch under the flares would probably be required.

That's one of those do or die mods... kudos to washiestsnake for going all in to get a custom look.

Edit: I'm thinking the front wheel arch is the problem when turning... maybe go for 16x7's for the front and 16x8's for the rear

Well it looks like I might not be getting the GTX afterall, I currently live with my parents and they're in a tight spot right now finacially. They've asked me to help out. My money for the GTX is now going to them unless the owner is understanding enough to wait a month so I can recoupe from this.  :'(

If I cant get this car Ill be forced to buy from other GTX owners meaning it will put the AWD swap out that much longer. I really hope it wouldnt come to this...

Well...

How about a sausage sizzle or bikini car wash to raise some money ?

Maybe you could write a letter to Mr. TRUMP asking for money...
