Alright small update im getting new headlights for the RS. Im getting projectors since this is a slight restomod. I dont plan on going overboard with the modern
 updates though.
The plan is to make everything look factory so im going back to the stock radio, and getting a Ford SVO steering wheel. The GTX is coming with its stock steering wheel so I might use that. Id like opinions on which steering wheel is better. Also while its still kinda warm I have to repaint the trim around the car. The plan is to eventualy take  off the body trim once i get the Clubsprint bumpers. I then plan on filling the space left from the sidetrim with fiberglass so I can have more room for my widebody kit.

Also huge props to Russ for keeping the GTX so long for me. I couldn't do any of this without him!

Update I bought the 1994 Premium Stereo System from Ron, Ill be installing that this weekend. Hopefully the previous owner used a stock radio to new headunit adapter I really dont want to cut and re-splice everything back to the factory connector.
Once I have time this weekend, ill take pictures inside and out of my car for you guys to see!

-Update On the GTX Russ is busy this weekend, and will be busy moving so I wont be able to get it till around March at the latest. I actually am happy about this as it keeps me out of the cold while I rip the parts out.

Update- Just got back from a junkyard it took me 3 hours but all I could find was Kia Sephias with the BP that had 250-300k miles. All the Escort GTs had there heads and intakes taken allready leaving a unusable motor.  :-\
I really hope I can find one around my location.
-Change of plans Im going to upgrade my b6 to Megasquirt 2 then use the wiring harness on the BP once I get it. This helps me skip having to get a XR-2 wire harness and having to deal with compatibility issues.

I drove 23 hours in two days to get my XR2 the other week and drove to WV twice last summer to get parts, and Ohio to get a tranny..

Just had some nasty thoughts of using a FE3 motor. Considering the BF chassis got the FE3 it should be a pretty straight forward swap, and considering its larger displacement then the BP it could potentially be a much better motor then the stroker. The best part is theres one in my junkyard I saw without knowing. What are you guys' opinion?

I had looked at that engine also, but wondered about how well it would fit because it was installed in the later model 323.

What i had seen in my quikj research was that the FE3 was installed in South African 1986-1989 model 323s. I wish I could find more on how they got it to fit.

In other news ive been working polishing and detailing my car and so far its turning out great.  I still need to repaint the trim and wetsand the front end but once thats done my car will look amazing.

Also im going on a 8hr car cruise so if i disappear permanently there was a car race and my driver lost control. I have no plans of getting into a car race just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Pretty sure the FE3 uses a different bolt pattern, I think there is a gtype that came mated to the F2 engines in the 626/probe that will work with it, possibly need to do a differential swap to get the right axles to work.

Will not mate to the GTX awd transmission

Do you think there would be a way to get the FE3 to mount to a GTX tranny?
Im guessing id have to get a bellhousing adapter right?

Pretty much.
You'd be better off with a different (stronger) transmission then

FE3 is taller/longer than BP AFAIK and may pose some fitment challenges

Currently buying some suspension bits to stiffen up the car, while i'm at it I have to get a new alternator. Once I have them installed and tested ill release a overview and installation guide!  8)
Does anyone know if we(US) got any AWD 626s, and if so what transmission is it?
Update: Only had enough money to buy a Front Strut Bar, and Front Lower Arm Bar. Once I get payed again ill be buying a 19mm Sway Bar, and Rear Lateral Bar. Im  also in need of a XR-2 front sway bar, being as my car is only a N/A.

The AWD 626 was never sold in North America, only in Europe, While Japan and I think New Zealand got it under the Capella name.

The tranny is a G-series and is very similar to the BG GTX. The 626 tranny basically differs by having a bolt pattern for the F-series engines and a shorter 1st, 5th, and final drive ratio.
