for sale on Craigslist, pics there
http://lancaster.craigslist.org/cto/5555589903.html

91 Mercury Capri XR2, 1.6 Turbo, 6 speed manual
Current mileage, 124,0xx

asking $4000, includes hardtop, a bunch of parts and another set of wheels.

Following work performed at 107,822 (the winter of 2012-2013)

Engine and drive train:
Plugs and wires, rotor and dust caps
Timing belt, water pump, front crank and cam seals, tensioner, AC/power steering belt
Radiator, hoses, thermostat
Cam cover casket, distributor o-ring
Coolant system flush and refill with proper antifreeze mixture
5th gear swap to higher ratio for better cruising and fuel economy. New transmission oil
Temperature sending unit and oil pressure sending unit (oil pressure gauge still does not work often and when it does, show pressure in reverse.)
Battery

Suspension and wheels:
Struts, mounts and boots, tie rod ends, sway bar links and busings, ball joints, wheel bearings
New wheels (15x7 VOX MG-3) and tires (205-50R Falken Ziex)

Brakes:
Calibers, rotors and pads. (Replaced the font pads again in the fall of 2015 due to squealing. I originally used organic pads and replaced them with better quality ceramics.)
Master cylinder
Drain and replace brake fluid

Exhaust:
Catalytic converter

Body and Lighting:
New bulbs (not headlights) all around, including new sockets for parking lights
Slight rust repair under front mud flaps
Trunk lid supports
Fitted new fog lights (OEM no longer available)

Interior:
Reupholster front and rear seats.
Floor mats
Steering wheel cover
Radio (FM, MP3 player, no CD or AM)
Dash bulbs (a few were burned out)
Add cup holder from newer Mercury
Rearview mirror with map lights from ’92 Capri
Center console storage and armrest (after market)
Rear defroster switch (for when hardtop is on)
Insulation under carpet
Trunk floor (lid over spar tire)

When doing the above work a number of things were cleaned, rebuilt, etc. Too many to list. (eg. Headlight raising mechanism, window washer system, cooling fans…)

Known problems:
Oil pressure gauge does not work consistently and when it does, shows pressure in reverse.
Rear winder defogger on hardtop does not work
Small tear in canvas top, at right rear corner (where it folds to go down in the boot)
Slight oil smoke at startup on cold days (when the oil is very thin). My next maintenance thing would have been rebuilding the Turbo and replacing the valve seals.

I have driven this car on three road trips and it has performed admirable, getting upwards of 32 mpg and using no oil.

As another user who has an oil pressure gauge that doesn't seem to read correctly, what exactly do you mean by 'in reverse' and how have you confirmed this behavior?

Beautiful looking Capri, looks to be well-maintained! GLWS!
