tbird compressor wheel
« on: October 10, 2009, 11:33:00 AM »

My compressor wheel is alittle beat up. Where can i get a new one? Or one that is in good shape?

it is a tbird hybrid so the cold side is from a 2.3L turbocharged tbird.

Can someone please point me in the right direction, i will post pics later so i can get a second oppinion on wether i need a new one or not.

eBay actually has compressor upgrades for that same turbocharger. They dont have any CFM #'s but one claims to support 325hp. That would put them well over 400cfm.

Hey Greg! If either wheel is the slightest damaged, it is junk. Try Pick-n-Pull or the Rebuilder you use should have cores.  Gus

I cant say as I dont run the upgrade with my chip, I've never tested it that far. I have run the Tbird on a B6T w/ a stock tbird compressor at 16+ psi and only started to lean out then. I'd guess you might be able to do it, keep a close eye on your AFR's and if it starts to go lean then rewire your fuel pump and maybe look into a Megasquirt or slightly larger injectors.

I am also curious as the GTX in the garage has the Tbird hybrid,Walbro 255 and the Corksport ECU ready to go....just need to get the exhaust sorted to put it on the road.

Clay, im interested to hear how it goes and in your afr readings. My compressor wheel is fairly chewed up so im looking at this upgrade good for 325 hp and well over 400 cfm, as rocket said, which would make the tbird hybrid as or more powerful as joes(rcicustoms) 14b setup as the TDO5H 14b turbo is rated at 405 cfm.

Check it out

Ebay item # 110444219992

you might want to go this route too if you get bored LOL

Keep me updated would ya?

Thanks,

Greg.

looks like the housing has been machined and the wheel has been clipped to fit...wonder what the wheel is from. The "stock" wheel looks the same as the Tbird wheel I have here.

Hey Greg! Yes Rocket can do that but it's not as simple as talking about it. Rockets' programing I'm sure came about by lots of hit and miss programmig 'til he come across the correct AFRs. It could take a day or days of computer programming to hit "your" individual needs.  Gus

Well i definatly think its worth the money if rocket can put in the time. Time is money!! the thing is i have put way to much time and money into this car to blow it up you know?

If rocket wants to put in the time im am willing to pay him!!
