Glad i can help, if i get enough hours, i plan on going the same route but ill be going a little bit differently than you guys. My plan is to get a 1.8l VVT Miata motor and the 2.0l stroker kit. That way if i ever wanna swap my turbo on their i can make big gains. As i get more info that will help us both ill post links.

That'd be cool snake! Maybe I'll have to research that.  ;D I have another open question for anyone who wants to answer. Is the gears in the fwd trans the same as the gears in the awd trans? I've got a slight second gear grind in the gtx, and I want to believe that it's from the clutch being pretty much rubbish in the gtx. Because if I take it easy it won't grind, but if I'm at all sloppy it will grind some.

Second gear grinding is a very common issue on the GTX tranny that has not been treated nicely. At this point a rebuild should be on the list of things to do especially if tranny is out of the car.

Nope it bolts pretty high up on the column behind the door jamb. It's only held on by 4 bolts
