Turbo timer, yay or nay?
« on: February 05, 2016, 12:45:42 PM »

I have had one kicking around forever, and I have a perfect sneaky spot to put it in my XR2. The real question is whether or not it would be a good thing for the motor if I'm going to start upgrading the turbo and the respiration tubing. Has anyone used a turbo timer in their cars? If so, what was your experience?

tl,dr: Is it worth it to throw in a turbo timer?

As long as you stick with a water cooled turbo you're fine. (stock turbo is water and oil cooled)

Even less necessary when using synthetic oil.

I've known a few folks with Capris who run them. I don't think it helps or hurts any.
