Clutch Kit Help
« on: November 14, 2015, 03:24:29 PM »

Well the clutch on my Capri finally went out at 67,550 Miles. I'll have to do the swap, no money for labor costs. Any tips on what Clutch kit to get. How hard is the swap i've never done it  before, and i don't have a engine hoist. I luckly have a 93 Capri Mechanics guide. So really im wondering how bad this will be on me. Also wondering about Australian Ford Badge size.

From info garnered on the Festiva Forum, Excedy seems to be the favorite for these cars.  They're available from Rockauto at a reasonable price.  I have one in my Capri and put one in my B6 swapped Festiva, but don't have it running yet.

Where are you in NC?

Is the clutch pedal adjustable?  Mine's a little too close to the floor but I don't know if this is indicative of something else.

I've also noticed that when I rev it high in first or second and go to shift, it sometimes feels like the clutch doesn't engage quickly enough.  Could I solve both of these problems with a new clutch kit?

That's what mine was doing before I had to install a new clutch and pressure plate.

$450 including parts? 'Cause if so that's a pretty darn good deal.

Mine was $350 plus parts so that's about the same neighborhood.  Got my clutch from Rockauto.

Thanks Gaz but I ended up doing my clurxh myself months ago. I ended up using just a stock oem Miata clutch because I figured it might be stronger then the Capris. Plus im trashing the F-series once I get the G-series I need.
