What, pray tell, is the infamous shifter drop? I guess I'm still a rookie when it comes to the Capri. Whatever it is, it sure doesn't sound like a fun time....

Some brittle plastic clips break and the shifter falls thru the floor until it is riding on top of the exhaust. Happens to every manual Capri at some point or another

Got my '93 running the other day. Was going to start it today and work on the idle and it broke the timing belt. One step forward and two steps back.

Bummer! At least you have your work cut out for you. Timing belt is on the list for my 94.

Speaking of, I found time to put new brake pads & hardware on the fronts for my 94. The calipers were in poor shape, I've free'd up the slides and put some new rubbers on, at least on the passenger side. Time has been extremely short lately

Of course I was planning on replacing it anyway, but wanted to get the brakes done first. Stripped a spindle nut on the rear and can't get a new one on, gotta get a rethreading die. Having trouble bleeding that brakes. The only way I have it a vacuums bleeder, they do work on this system don't they.?

At work we gravity bleed brake systems and it's perfect on most cars. Only a few need manual bleeding

I bought it :) After two years without my 1969 Fiat 124 Sport I decided to buy a 1992 XR2. I have always liked them and was looking for a nice weekend cruiser. i hope  to have delivered in the next two weeks.

Congratulations, hope it works for you. I installed a used IAC on my 91. It's almost idling correctly. The PO adjusted the idle to nothing trying to reduce the idle caused by the stopped up IAC and I keep working on that.

I screwed up my shifter......well my 92 dropped it shifter out the other day and I jacked it up and put a screw in it. Someone had put a 1/8 pop rivet in it so I also put in a 3/16 pop rivet. Should be  awhile before it is a problem for a while.

replaced the clutch master cylinder and slave on my wife's 94 NA.  I really hate doing the slave.  What a tight space.  Still need to bleed it, but that's the easy part.

Went riding around with the top down for what I thought was the third last time this year. Now looks like I might do it again today.
