Plugs, wires, rotor and cap for the red car.  Set of Mercedes SLK seats for the white car.

Jack Byrd

Fun times in the heat getting those seats Saturday....Glad someone brought that motorcycle/UPS battery so we could power them.

Got that right, gotta get me one of those for when I start the installation.

Can use mine. I have a whole box of em. I'll bring it this weekend.

New wires, plugs, cap and rotor.  Didn't realize it could run this much better.

Replaced the worn out steering wheel on my red car.  Thanks David Young.

I had added an XR2 spoiler previously,  I finally put new struts on the trunk lid to hold it open.  Got them from Rock Auto from the list of items they are discontinuing/closeout.

Need to check that out, I need struts too.

An XR2 showed up at the local Pull-A-Part and scored some good parts.  IAC, brake master cyclinder, two door pulls, a glove box with a good latch, a top latch, excellent trim piece from the convertible top cover, excellent center console, both pieces, assorted relays and all the big fuses.  A little under a hundred bucks.  Good day.

Has anyone done the 5th gear conversion from Roo-Sport?  I have the kit and I'm thinking about making that the weekend project.  Any advice out there?  Is there a gasket on the tranny end cap?

I have. I suggest using a stout impact wrench as it will make it so much easier and I would presoak both nuts with either PB Blaster or a mix of acetone/antifreeze (actually works better than PB Blaster)

There was a great step by step on 626.net, but it's down it seems right now.

Here's a great YouTube video that basically shows you how to access and change the gears in a g-series. It's from the same family of tranny's. You will need a 27mm and a 32mm socket for the nuts. I suggest buying new pinch nuts if the kit didn't come with them.

Finally got around to mounting new X-Drilled rotors, Stainless lines, rebuilt calipers and sourced some Stop Tech street pads that came with all new hardware. Good stuff and they look great! Nice, firm, brake pedal now and good modulation. Bedded them in this evening. I’ll see what they are like in the mountains tomorrow with top down.

That is a great looking setup.  You're going to be able to tame the Dragon with ease.

My power windows quit working and I had to rebuild the driver's switch.  Thanks to whoever it was that posted the info about this process.  I didn't need it at the time, but put it in the memory bank.  That's the great thing about this forum.

Thanks again, Jack Byrd
