Last Saturday I drove my Capri 50 miles to meet up with college friends and play golf.  The golf bag fit perfectly in the trunk.  I was doing 85-90 on the highway without a problem.  After golf and dinner I drove back in the dark with the top down and crossed over Woodward Ave. on the way home.  People are already out cruising on Woodward ahead of the Woodward Cruise on the 19th.  The car drove like a champ.

Finally got my speedo drive out so I can check the tranny fluid, and it's fine, but I'm going to change it because it is black.

You've got skinny hands, should be a piece of cake.

Yup it was fairly easy unfortunately the rod for the door opener fell out on the passenger side and I can't see how it hooks up. Really wish I had a worm camera.

I got one for $20.  Used it in the exact same place on a Ford Windstar.

Oh I'm fine I still have the door opener itself. What I mean is when I took the door panel off the rod that connects the movement from the pull to the mechanism inside the door fell out of its spot. It's nearly impossible to see where the whole is to stick it back In.

Changed to 15,000 mile sythethic oil, Sychomesh tranny fluid and got my short fixed.  Next is 2 1/4 exhaust and getting my hardtop ready to put on.

New wheel bearing on front left side (passenger side in Oz) - had to source a new hub as the original was very worn and out of shape - these appear to be very hard to find - I luckily found a pair of front suspension towers with hubs/brakes, etc.  - plenty of spares for the future.  I had a mobile mechanic fit the parts (and press the bearing in place) which was great - good to watch what work is going on  - have been screwed at various mechanics around town so nice to find a good mechanic for a change.  He also fixed my brakes previously after a couple of go's at various mechanics.......

Cleaned her up and took her to the Mount Airy, NC cruise in, last of the year.  Only one there, believe it or not.

Installed a new headliner and insulation in my hardtop.  Put it on for the first time.  Looks good.  White car, red top.  More to come.

Took it for a spin yesterday and started missing at higher rpms and when shifting.  Pull in the garage and it would idle at 1750 rpm.   Hooke up meter and showing code 9. Ordered new ECT sensor. Waiting for it to arrive this week along with new struts for all four corners.

Update:  Put in the new ECT sensor last week and it nows runs great!

Corrected my ultra fast idle problem.  When the mechanic replaced the alternator, he broke the PCV valve and the guts came out and he just stuck it back together.  New PCV valve ($3.00) problem solved.

Took the cover off and took it out in the warm weather.  She loved it and I did too.  Can't wait for spring.
