Went for a 5 hour test drive from the ACT to NSW after getting the turbo version of the B6 installed in my 94 SE Capri.

5 hours just flew by, ony stopped once for 98 octane petrol. Driving the country roads with stock turbo is a nice upgrade from non turbo... no one overtook me the whole trip... one guy tried to match pace on windy mountain roads except I blew him off every set of bends with smooth gear changes and nice boost :)

I'm loving the new turbo motor, can't wait to tweak it a bit more

I know what you mean.  I loved my N/A car, but really wanted a little more.  When I got my NR2, I loved it.  Now I'm thinking, I really want a little more.

Looks great, I'd go for that.  What year were they from?  You can get Mercury decals from Russ to cover the center caps.

Looks like they're from a 2004-2006 Kia Spectra...

When it comes time for new tires, I'm going to think real hard about going with 205/55s instead of 195/60s...

Thanks, I think I"m going to a larger OD tire to better fill up the wheel well and my speedometer reads about 5 mph faster than the car is going.

Picked up a whiteline front strut bar, and went for a 2 1/2 hour test drive... awesome cornering, well pleased :)

Just installed a boost gauge in my clubsprint replica turbo - now I know the dashboard gauge is probably not quite accurate and understating the amount of boost - 9psi on SAAS gauge to 6psi on dashboard - that is great news though as I have some spare adjustment on the boost controller.

Not many places to install the gauge without major work - so for now I have hung it off the bottom screw which holds the radio/storage box fascia - just enough tube to reach from the connection on the manifold (thanks Ford/Mazda for providing a spare connection - as well as a spare hole in the firewall - no drilling - yay...!!

I just purchased a tk105B GPS GPRS tracker alarm today for $55 USD...

Can do the following
  • Wire in a remote door immobiliser and use a remote to open / lock doors
  • Wire into aux battery
  • Set up a GPS / GPRS antenna to track car and send sms tracking to my tablet to open in google maps / earth.
  • Download Android software to get my tablet and Tracker to talk to each other... can send sms commands to do car stuff like, turn on / off alarm, GPS tracking, lock doors, microwave sensor.
  • Add microwave sensor to have audible alarm / alert to tablet for when car is parked topless
  • Add a switchable key operated, independent power supply siren for audible / silent alarm
  • Add a permanent GPS / GPRS antenna on the boot... small slim round black disc.... kinda like a small hockey puck
  • Add a RFID immobiliser to require a RFID tag to start ignition with key

Not bad for $55 for base unit, $35 for Rfid, $35 for GPS GPRS antenna, $25 for microwave sensor, $35 for lockable switch siren with own power supply.
