Which Capri? I have 7 in the driveway, and 6 at  the barn....All of them need something....new tops being the most common need....

Changing a timing belt tomorrow, but today? Ahhhhh.....today is a holiday. Time to relax!

Wow you have a herd of Capris. 😀

Today was torquing day. I got the head on, manifolds... everything but the timing belt.

Tomorrow is the fun day, hearing it run.

Hey Russ,

In all those Capris, do you have a set of 94 tail lights and some OEM front marker light lenses?

The lower pivot bolt on my XR2 was jerry-rigged since I got it. The nut on the bolt popped off while I was driving the other day (I heard it but didnt know where it came from lol) so I got to replace that today. Was rattling around and making not so friendly noises. Also dragged the GTXR2 out of it's parking spot, I really need to work on that thing.

I was putting the top timing belt back on when I had a Doh moment. Nothing to bolt it to! #&$@*
I forgot to put the backing plate on behind the cam gears. I found it hiding in the corner, lol.

So I tore her back down and done it right. I swear I can change the timing belt blindfolded. I should have her running in a couple hours.

I do not at the moment....all the 94 tails I have are melted pretty badly. I have scheduled a repair session in the next couple of weeks,  and hope to fully restore at least one pair. Did you also need the center license plate section?

Thanks Russ, My rear section is in really good shape.  My 91 tails are spotless.  I was just going to replace them with the 94s for the look.  Do you need to replace the center section with the 94s?

You don't HAVE to, but it looks incomplete if you don't. There will be a large gap between the bottom of the lights and the bumper, that looks terrible, IMO....

Well in that case, I guess I would like the center piece as well.

I'm glad you mentioned the center piece. I plan on doing that upgrade as well along with a body kit.

Well, I'm amassing parts to do a suspension upgrade.  I ordered some KYB parts from Amazon Friday night.  Doorbell just rang and it's USPS with a delivery from Amazon.  Talk about rapid response, WOW!  Now, I need to get down to O'Rielly's for some upper strut mounts.

Hey Russ, I need a strut tower brace.  You're next on my list.  I'll give you a call tomorrow.

Yep the tower brace is on my list too. It'll have to wait another month as my tires are next. 😊

I saw on the yahoo group someone who had built a rear tie bar that tied the rear suspension together.  I think I'm going to give it shot and try to build one of those as well.  It didn't look that difficult.

My auto doesn't have the rear sway bar but it's easily added if you find one off a XR2. The bolt holes are there.

Today I'll take the car for a spin and enjoy the fruits of my labor.

Today has been a DIY ragtop replacement day.  It has bee a pretty good day.  Not too much hassle.  Will get it finished up tomorrow and post a picture.  It's a reallu nice canvas type.  None of that vinyl crap.
