that's interesting Jack....what did you use and would you recommend it?  I need to dye some worn areas on the driver side leather seat of my 94 xr2.

It is some dye I got from a company in SC. They do standard colors for European cars and will do custom colors. You would probably need to dye the entire seat. Clean it and sand it with 400, then you can brush or spray for the same results.  Time will tell how long lasting it is. I used it on the SLK seats I put in my white car.

Slowly getting things ready for hibernation.
Back / Side position lights removed and replaced with cleaner used parts. Screws and clips replaced with stainless steel parts.
After much cursing - front left blinker replaced with cleaner used parts. Right one is up on my next days off.

Looking forawrd to next summer!
Cheers

Attached rubber edges to the metal trunk “floor” (which replaced soggy pressboard one) - since rubber edging left over, attached to trailing edge of doors to reduce rubbing and rattling. Began electrical trouble shoot by charging battery fully with charger.

Well I am still going with a head gasket fix - my poor 91 turbo overheated while racing a couple of months ago when the fan belt broke and bent the head  - cylinder head has been repaired (including welding a crack in cylinder 1 exhaust valve part of head) and now the journey continues - water pump, timing belt, new gaskets all round - and cleaning of most things in between....I just have to make a crank bolt tool to remove it so I can get the new belt on....(thanks to this forum as fixing most things would be hard without everyone's knowledge available)......

Reassembled shifter linkage using CorkSport bronze bushings.
Tested hardtop wiring before proceeding with repairs to fabric.

Sigh...wished I could do what Jack did today, it would be perfect for that today.

Except my mountains have been on fire for eight weeks.

I'm glad one of us is enjoying the ride....if not me, my friends!

Cheers all,

Steve

Sorry to hear that, I've been though those forests and they are/were beautiful.  Stay safe.

Put a new Optima in my white car today. Had been having cranking problems and it finally stopped cranking.  Battery tested good, but it wasn't.  That's the third time I've experienced that.

Jack, thank you.

We're back from mandatory evacuation so today I hope to dig my old girl out for a short spin in the semi-warm, semi-smoky fall weather.

Yaaay!

Today I dropped the kid off at school and replaced the trunk struts for my xr2. Now, I turn the key and it pops all the way open. Nice sunny day for a drive too.

I'm about to drive down the mountain with the top down, it's just kinda sorta warm enough out here to do that.

I should drive the truck down to get lumber and other project supplies, but...

Cheers all!

Hi all,

Today it was 50 something up here so I went for a drive, top down and stereo up. The sun was sliding behind the mountains on the way home....brrrrrrr.

It's to snow on and off through Monday so I figured I just had to get out today.

All I need is four and a half miles and I've put a thousand on it this year!

Cheers,

Steve
