Finally got the front turn signal / parking light sockets rebuilt and operational on my 92 xr2. Now to get this thing inspected and back on the road!

Cool, want to go to Florida in February?

I would love to do the Florida meet, but will have to pass on it for now.  We have a trip to south Florida and the Keys planned for April with some friends.

Next up on the 92 is under the hood...get rid of the fan belt chirp, new valve cover gasket, new timing belt, shifter bushings, etc. After that a paint job.  It has horrible clear coat scale.  After that, it will be ready to join in all the reindeer games!

The clearcoat has started popping on my red car so I guess I'm gonna have to do something about that.

New wheel bearings all around for my '62 XR2. Gonna give it a bath and go to Florida for the meet.

Got a 2 1/4" exhaust and Cherry Bomb turbo muffler installed on my red car. Has a nice deep sound at idle and low speed, no drone or intrusive volume at cruise and an interesting burble when you rev it at idle.  Pretty cool.

Sounds like the exhaust setup on my 92 xr2 Jack. I'm taking time during this stay at home order to teardown my 2 parts cars. Learning a lot while doing it. It gives me a good feel on how everything is put together. I did the same thing with a 57 chevy when I was 16. Here I am at 68 and still playing!

Removed a set of mint seat rails from some junk seats.

Finally got that stuck left rear caliper replaced.  It fought me all the way.

Scored huge off an 88K car at Winston-Salem Pull-A-Part.  Hubs, spindles, calipers, brake pads, like new from both ends. Axles and intermediate shaft, a Bosch alternator that looks like it just came out of the box. $400 I feel like it was a nice day.  The car still has almost all the turbo stuff still intact and the body is pristine. Other FB members got stuff from it also.

Any idea why it was at the JY? Was the ECU still there?

No, except that there didn't seem to be any fluid in the transmission.  It was a really nice car when dumped in there.  Removing stuff was almost like taking it off a new car.  No rusted bolts. A real shame.

Scored a primo steering wheel, an XR2 gauge cluster with 88K and a full set of locks with keys.  I guess it's too much to expect the bulbs in the fog lights I got to be good.  I've got a disease.

Red car, new trunk struts and mounted the rear view mirror, AGAIN!  White car, replaced the fog lights, fixed the dangling front bumper, finally applied the Roo wheel center decals and started on my MR2 front spoiler mod.

Hi all,

Well gee...

...I wasn't nearly so productive as Jack, but yesterday I brought my red '91 out of winter hibernation, checking everything and put fourteen test miles on it. All went well...sorta. I found the clutch sticks in gear once in a while...sigh...

And, instead of checking here first (still new and learning), I ordered two closeout air filters from Rock Auto, then found the discount and closeout reference here.

Cheers all!
