Got my 1994 rear decklid panel back from my friends paintshop. Its now a beautiful tripple gloss black pictures will be up soon.

Are you going for black for the finished car?

Finally got my mechanic to work on my XR2.  New timing belt, water pump, some of the water/heater hoses, thermostat, radiator cap, flushed the brakes, rear axle bearing(both sides), caliper guide bolts and rubber boots.  I wanted to change the transmission fluid, but couldn't get the speedometer drive loose.  I even broke the retainer screw when I went to remove it.  Now I'm soaking it in PB Blaster, am dreading removing the piece of screw from the transmission housing.

Did some work for the cooling system. I replaced the hoses and thermostat.

Head gasket, cam seals, front main, vcg and grommets, plugs, ect sensor, pcv valve, all the vacuum lines, thermostat, dump hose, water pump, poly sbls, what hoses I deemed icky...Fucking ayyyyy.

I would have threw my hybrid turbo on, but I did not feel like building a downpipe at the moment.

Just installed my new toyo tires proxes 4. Went out to try them, and so far I'm pleased with their performance. They are solid and have good grip. They are just a bit louder than the pirelli's.

Got an alignment, fixed the rear sway bar bushing bracket, and installed a pair of shifter bushings.  Had the front adjusted to toe out with toe in at the rear.  Oddly it still pulls to the right.  Don't like that, other than that, it's like a different car.  Driving and shifting are great.  Sway bar bushings are next.

Picked up a silver top for it in PA.  Then drove a couple of hours down the road and traded it for a red one.  When winter comes, it'll be a white XR2 with a red top.

Time for a new battery today as the old one wont hold charge for very long - this time the correct one (someone had put one in with posts on wrong side so battery was wrong way around and also half-width posts for not enough contact).  also a new K&N filter to try out for a bit of track time.

Finally finished reassembling the car on Saturday, fired it up for the first time in months...only to find that the custom braided oil feed line I'd had made for the turbo was leaking through the swivel joint. Have to go get the line replaced next Saturday, which means another week with no Capri and having to reassmble the car yet again.

Sigh. So close yet so far.  :-\

Changed oil filter on my turbo...... :(  ....did they put that filter in a bad spot.....I put a K&N filter on last time with a built-in nut for a socket to undo but even that is almost impossible with the lack of room and location.  Ended up undoing by hand luckily (don't over tighten...) and all good after an hour of unhappiness......(to say the least)

Might be harder on your right hand drive Capri's. our leftys seem pretty easy to me. I've had much harder engines to reach them on and some that mercilessly dumped all over the exhaust or starter (Windstar or SHO, if memory serves me right).

I took a taillight out of my donor car. My wife has friends over and, of course, they know everything. They insisted on helping and now my taillight is busted. They did offer a well felt "that sucks".
