1990 turbo Capri

(1/2) > >>

Monza Red:
Hi all,
Another Newbie here, details of my Capri as follows -
Have owned the Capri for about 5 years now, initially brought it for my partner as her VW Polo was becoming very unreliable. The Capri had 250000 KM when I got it and it has been very reliable, the VW only had 110000KM on it and was falling apart, whats that tell you ? Only did a timing belt, seals and fluid change when purchased and topped up the Air con gas, nothing else was needed.
Have recently rebuilt the B6T, blueprinted, fitted hypereutectic pistons, H beam rods and cleaned up the ports a bit but the biggest change has been the fitment of Garrett's smallest ball bearing turbo - GT2554R on a custom exhaust manifold by Abe Tech (a work of art).
Was a challenge to get the manifold angle turned in towards the engine enough to clear the radiator. Also fitted a large PWR front mount intercooler.
Only running an air flow meter and standad injectors and ECU at present so haven't really been giving it full revs, worried about it leaning out up top.
Hoping Rocketman can help me out with a rocketchip to suit otherwise will need to fit an after market ECU and have it set up on a dyno accordingly.
Body wise have fitted a fiberglass clubsprint style rear bumper and Capote top, currently working on the front bumper.
Have limited photos at present, will add more in due course.
Cheers

DarkAngel:
Those look like 18 inch rims !

Monza Red:
Only 17's they are a very tight fit, the rear tyres  just touch the top of the shock mounts. Would consider fitting 16's but cant find the offset and style i like.
What rims are you running ?

DarkAngel:
Picking up some BBS 16x7 +40 rims on wednesday, and going with Michelin pilot sport 3 205 45 16

check out my build thread

Monza Red:
Let me know how they fit under the guards. Forgot to mention i also had to roll the rear guards to fit the tyres under the guards.
