Turbo/throttle cable
« on: September 25, 2014, 03:35:08 PM »

I recently posted a problem with my turbo not operating or opening up correctly.
I also posted later that i lacked throttle response.
Well who would have thought both were linked together  :D
While my wife pushed on the accelerator
I was able to measure about 1/4 of the throttle cable actually operating.
In A nut shell , no gas , no power. That's why It felt so weak.
So I zip tied it down and took
It for a spin. "Wow" what a difference .
I feel like I can work on just about anything if I have the time and patience to put into any project
Now all I need is an endless supply of gas for those long road trips......
Oh and yes I'm still in the market for a Hard top I you know of anyone that's selling

Hah, I had a similar issue with my first XR2 - the cable sheath had shredded. I 'fixed' it with a large quantity of electrical tape. I eventually grafted an n/a cable in.

I have two hard tops - I had one for sale for quite some time but I have been using it for the last year on a parts car. Are you willing to drive to PA?
