The "Galant" upgrade uses escort calipers and Mitsubishi Galant rotors

To replace your rotors you'll have to pop off the axle nut and remove the spindle assembly, the rotor is bolted onto the inside of the spindle/hub with 4x 12mm bolts. Theres a lot that can wrong here so pay attention when doing it, theres a spacer inside that determines bearing preload, if you lose it your bearings are done for.

Whats the smallest wheel that can be used with the galant rotors? Im asking because I might end up swapping capri brakes onto my festiva and wouldnt mind having the hub BEHIND the rotor. The galant upgrade seems to accomplish that.

I think there is an Aspire swap for the Festiva that retains the 4x100 bolt pattern? Capri is 4x114.3 if that makes any difference. IIRC the aspire uses floating rotors instead of the captured rotor

IIRC the OEM wheels will bolt up, I dont know exactly though I've never tried

Festiva and Capri have the same 114.3 pattern stock. The aspire swap give the Festiva the 4x100 pattern.

The Capri fronts are bigger though and I already have all the parts. I just hate the rotor-behind-hub setup...

Im hoping to use either 13" or 14" wheels on the Festiva. Any bigger just looks too big on the car, though if I have to I can use stock 15" Xr2 wheels...

The Galant upgrade will force you to use 15" wheels as the smallest.

Is there a smaller rotor that can be used? Or a way to put the rotor outside the hub and keep the stock caliper?
