I have the VJ11 compressor for sale to hybrid your turbo. If you are leaking oil it is time for a rebuild and the perfect time to throw on the bigger compressor. You will need to find a turbo shop in you area. This is not something your local mechanic should do. HJere is s pic.

I will be replacing my turbo too, after I replace my harmonic balancer.
When I start shopping for the hybrid replacement, will I need just the vj11 compressor, or will I need the vj11 turbine and other parts ?

It depends on how you decide to tackle it. If you buy Clay's compressor wheel & housing, that get stuck onto your existing turbo when you rebuild it. You won't need the turbine or any other parts, other than the above.

If you try to use a full VJ11 CHRA, then you would find a whole Vj11 turbo. For you, I would not recommend this route.

Am anxious to see how your hybrid rebuild works out.
I found a mechanic near Newport who will replace mine.
As Matt suggested. I prob will send mine off to one of the places he recommended.
If I understand, the larger compressor will fit, but the mechanic will have to make some type of adjustment to the wastegate positioning.
Will run this past the mechanic when ready.
Oil leak getting worse; really smoking

All that is involved with the wastegate bracket is drilling a couple new holes and porting the wastegate port to the size of a nickle. The VJ11 hybrid is the single best performance bang for your buck upgrade for these cars when coupled with a Rocketchip and a worthy intake and exhaust which should be on the list of to do's any way. The car will be so much more at 15psi.

in order of appearance
1)intake and exhaust
2)upgraded turbo
3)Rocketchip and a boost controller then disable the fuel cut sensor. The chip will not be of much use without the increased efficient boost which you will not get from the VJ14. Matt chime in here.
This is what the VJ14/11 hybrid looks like.

and actually I don't think the wastegate bracket needs any mods now that I look at my pic. I was thinking of the TBird.

Most folks run the stock turbo at higher boost and then move to the hybrid once they feel the itch for more power. The chip w/ stock turbo makes a huge difference.

Don't get me wrong, they hybrid is friggen awesome and I do highly recommend it, with this community folks seems to be a bit more incremental but by all means dive in all at once if you can. The hybrid will give you those giddy grins :D

Gotta get the new turbo.
Thanks Matt for the suggestions for places to send it.

The oil seal leak from behind the compressor is now causing more smoke.
Smog people don't like that.

Does the extra smoke foul up the catalytic converter?
They say I need one
