Thats a good question, I'm also wondering about bigger rotors for a NA, has this been done?

There is a 'Big Brake' upgrade for the capri. It uses rotors from a Mitsubishi Gallant VR4. Larger calipers come from a newer model Escort GT. It changes some of the stuff around, see the link here: http://www.323gtx.homestead.com/brakes.html

And there is current discussion on the mazda 323 forum here: http://www.mazda323performance.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9090

I'm looking to do this soon.

As far as a 5-lug pattern, I have never heard of it being done before but I would say its certainly possible. You would probably have to  find a hub that would fit in the bearing.

Let us know if you find anything!
