Rubbing tires on stock suspension????

CapriChick
I bought it a couple of months back from a local car dealership trying to get rid of it. As far as I know it has never been on Ebay. No, It's not lowered, but sooner or later it will when I get more funds. Thanks for the complements, I like your Capri as well. The paint color and wheels make it look like a new car and not a 13 yr old one.  :D

Thanks for the compliments     Your car was definetely on there twice...once reserve not yet met, and then relisted...they were the exact same "Before" pictures that you have on your site, and I remember being suprised that it was a NA because of the wing.

I actually just took a second to search for it, but I think Completed Items can only be searched for two weeks...if you know the seller's Ebay name you could probably find it.

I have a set of 94 tail lights on the way to replace my 91-93 style.  I just wanted to compliment that they look good on that white Capri Paul.  I also have 17s that I will be having mounted within the month, I want to MAKE SURE winter and snow is gone.  My offset on my 17's are 40mm.  I will be doing some testing that's for sure.  I would be willing to go with a .25" spacer but I would rather not.  I have tokico struts and ground control coilovers so I should be able to set it up right on top of that tire.  I hope.

Cory,
I appreciate the comment on the Capri. The 17's I have are 40mm offset so you should not have to use a spacer. It was a close fit but you can get a couple of fingers inbetween the rim/tire and the suspension. I put the 94 taillights/center section and a 94 xr2 spoiler on it. The lights have a little melting damage on the inside but it is not very noticable. I am thinking of painting the black portion of the taillights white like the rest of the car. What do you think? I saw another thread that you plan on using an eclipse body kit on your capri? What year? If I can borrow my mom-in-law's digital camera I plan on taking a few more pics for Anthony to post. Mainly of the sunvisor DS/PS lcd monitors and the in dash am/fm/cd/dvd player, and a few closer detailed shots that what I first sent. Next project is new struts and lowered spring, then possible some type of body kit and a new white paint job.

Paul-
No problem.  Nope that wasn't me with the body kit ideas.  Check those other posts.  Hmmmm painting that black part, I might have to photoshop some pictures when I get home and see what it looks like.  I don't think I have ever seen anybody do that with those lights.  I have an XR2 so I already had a spoiler, so I would have to decide if I would want to hunt down another spoiler or not.  Wouldn't mind the F40 style like Anthony has on his.

Ohh yea, and so you have 40mm offset and you are ok?  I only saw a little problem with the rears, but I didn't have the tire I am going to use on the rim at the time, I had a 45 profile tire on there that came with the rims.  Does the rim stick out at all or are they inside the wheel well?

Cory,
You will have to use 40 series tires for it to work correctly. I have 205/40/17's on the 17x7 40mm offset wheels.

forgot what else I was going to say. My wheels are flush with the edge of the fenders. If I lower the car the tires will tuck right in w/o any problems.

Yea I will be using 205/40/17's when they are mounted.  That 45 profile tire just came with two of the tires when I bought them.  OK sweet I just want them to tuck so that should be perfect!  Thanks for all the info.

I just ordered some H&R Springs from the tire rack for $198. shipped.  Also plan to call Tokico Gas strut Co. and order premium struts from the company.  They have another overstock special price sale for the front/rear struts for the Capri. $39.00 a piece + shipping. List price was $128. a piece. The sale is good till 03/30/04. I can't wait to see what the old car looks and drives like with the new set up. It is riding kinda rough with the original struts w/65,000 miles

Paul, yea I'm sure you will like the set up.  I went back and forth for about 3 months whether to go the coilover way or the H&R springs for tirerack.com.  I love the ability to adjust my ride heighth (is that spelled right?) 4".  You'll have to let me know how the ride and 1.5" drop goes.  Before and after pics of course

Anthony has the exact setup I do.  Both have Tokico Struts and Ground Control Coilovers.  I have some pictures up on Cardomain too.   93 XR2 with Coilovers

Cory leave the last "h" off and it is spelled right. I will definitely send before/after pics once they are on. Also am working on painting the 94 taillights white as we speak. Just got off the phone with tokico and ordered the struts. I would like coil-overs but don't have the $$ for them. Its hard enough having to sneak the struts and H&R's by my wife w/o her knowing(approval).

Hey Paul-
I wanna see those before/after pics.  I think I might be interested in posting those on my Capri site too.  I can imagine how excited you are to get the rest of your suspension, I just couldn't wait.  Although I waited another month or so to get it all installed because of salty streets, I was still excited.  Well let me know how that setup goes.  See ya
