Need some advice
« on: December 19, 2010, 10:54:00 PM »

Hey again!!

I am looking at putting new seats in my Capri and would like some suggestions from anyone who has done it. I don't want to spend a whole lot, of course. So, Sparcos and such are totally out of the question!   ;)

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!!

I'm no expert but I bought a pair of seats from the salvage yard (real nice condition seats) out of a late '90's ('98 or '99 I think) Mustang Convertable. (electric adjustable driver's seat, too) The 'front to back' bolt-dimentions were the same but the width of the mounting bolts are not exactly the same as the Capri seats. I made some 'adapter plates' that worked-out great. This will not help you if your looking for an exact "bolt-in" replacement.

I picked up some of those Checkers / O'reillys seats that they sell. I got a smoking deal for the set off craigslist with the universal sliders. but even at the $150 each price tag they are well worth it.

with the universal sliders i was able to just bolt them to the raised crossmembers on the floor. worked perfect. they were actually really durable seats as well. I am a big guy and the side of the chair after 1 year of driving was still perfect. az sun did not destroy them either.

here are some pics installed into my car

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at those seats at O'Reilly. That's what Checker's is over here.

Anyone else?

All of our checkers are turning into oreilys now here.

Like i said for the price they are excellent. All the ebay special seats i have seen people buy normally wear quick.
