Hey folks!!

I just wanted to let everyone know the Napa part number for the shifter linkage bushings that fit our Capris. They sell them individually, so make sure you get all 6. Just replaced mine this morning and it sure makes a world of difference. Oh, and they are only $1.29 each!!

Part number: ATM0771303

Here's some more info:

Corksport makes performance Bronzoil bushings that will indeed fit the capri (listed for a protege but it will work) http://www.corksport.com/corksport-bronze-oil-shifter-bushings.html

ZXTuner sells a set:
http://www.zxtuner.com/product.sc?productId=21&categoryId=22 Looks OEM & overpriced if the NAPA bushings are that cheap

ZXTuner also sells a Energy suspension bushing for the stabilizer bar, looks like it's a nice piece, I haven't seen any other replacements for it elsewhere:
http://www.zxtuner.com/product.sc?productId=92

More part numbers, should be correct but I haven't confirmed them yet

Ford Bushing part # E7GZ-7A133A
Mazda part # B001-46-062
And as you said above:
Napa part # ATM0771303

I'll sticky this thread

As a question since this was dug up, has anyone installed the bronzoil bushings and had any noticable increase in noise or buzzing?  Mine has a lot of slack in it, but I don't want to ruin the car when it works awesome as a cruiser.

The buzzing is usually only from completely worn bushings where the shifter literally bounces around on the linkage. The solid bronzoil bushings might cause a lot of vibration to be felt in the shifter but I doubt it would make much noise

RC, a nice set of OEM or NAPA bushings really makes a huge difference over worn ones

I'm picking up the NAPA bushings this afternoon and was wondering if replacing them is pretty straight forward. I didn't know if someone already had posted some DIY instructions for this.

It's pretty straight forward. You'll see what needs to be done as soon as you get under there. Have some PB Blaster or break free ready just in case.

I bought the bushings from NAPA listed in this sticky and installed the two immediately under the main shifter.

How easy was it? It took longer to jack the car up and block than it did to install the bushings.

A world of difference. My shifter had become very loose side to side. Now there is no play and it feels very tight like it should. Best part was the cost. $1.62 for each bushing. Best $3.24 I have spent to date.

there are 6 all together, 4 of which are on the other end of the linkage. when i replaced mine it took so much slop out of the shifter that i could hardly drive it until i got used to the like-new feel!

I also replaced all of these bushings and there is a big difference. Its still hard to shift into 1st gear from a red light though. Does anybody have the energy shift bushings on there capri?
