Hi,

Ive had my capri with a few mods for a while now, and people really love the car, we all know the attention the lil convertible gets however all the feedback i get is about two of its most distinctive 'unatractive' features:

* TAIL LIGHTS - does anyone know other then the club sprint kit, of any tail lights that can fit in place of the existing ones with a little screwing holes here and there to hold em in place, would supras lights work?

* Notice on convertibles when the roof goes down there are NO WINDOWS near the driver or passenger whereas capri still has its side (triangle) windows even if the main windows are down. This is an old looking feature.

which i hope to work around

these are just ideas, if not possible hey ill accept it, but any suggestions people?

Without the glass going down in the front part of the door, it leaves room for a big speaker in a small door.

Personally, I find the tail lights to be somewhat nice.  They are a unique feature to the car and are a good distinction.  I do like the '94 lights a bit more than the 89-93 lights, however, as they are less bland.

the lights are too blocky/sqaure, very old look i guess, well ive looked into it and i might use perspex to somehow alter the back

well, the good news is there's a large flat panel back there once the stock taillamps and backing plate is removed. skyline tails?? think they'll fit?

or, to change the look a bit, try spraying the stock lamps with a smoke tint in a can. that will black them out and help a bit perhaps??

as for the a pillar windows, it's common to see those on roadsters - they help deflect wind. the miata has them as well.

Skyline tails would look nice, but I hope you're not going to buy the real ones. I priced a set of R34 tails to retrofit on my car... cheapest I could find was $800 a set. I like the look of the new Chevy Cobalt tails too.

It would be nice to see different tail lights. But the tail lights on my 94 i get nothing but good things from people about them. Giving the cars age those lights look much better then alot of ones out there. I'd would be extremely happy if the someone could reproduce the 94 tail lights as they have a small problem with heat over time.

a friend of mine has used a tinted sheet of see through perspex to remove the gap where the number plates are to go, so i looks like the brake lights are apart of the body with out the in dentation, he has his plates on the right side of his bumper looks okay, his got capri in fancy writting on it too.. might try something alone those lines

I TO LOOKED INTO THE SKYLINE LIGHTS THE ARE TOO BOXY TO ADAPT RIGHT INTO THE REAR OF THE CAPRI, I DO HAVE TO AGREE WITH STE_6000, I DID THE 94 CONVERSION AND THE HEADS YOU TURN WITH THOSE LIGHTS GIVES YOU THE FEELING LIKE YOU ARE A CAPRI GOD, I WOULD SAVE THE MONEY GET THE 94 LIGHTS.

I have seen pictures of the Aussie capri tail lights and I like them BUT I am NOT sure where they could be had, not to mention that the panel would have to be replaced b/c they are ROUND.....
