Steering wheel?

so I wanted to put a racing wheel into my Capri but I didn't know what I can use for an adapter to mount it in this car! I wanted to know if anyone has tried to swap theirs out already that could tell me more about what I needed for parts. I was thinking there might be just some mercury or mazda mount that will fit.
thanks

I think everyone's tried to keep the factory airbag in place. I'm not sure what adapter you would use.
Maybe the aussies can help, the 89s didnt have airbags and I've seen aftermarket steering wheels in place.

yep, I have a MOMO steering wheel on mine... All I needed to install was a "boss" kit and the steering wheel to go with it. There is no air-bag on my model, so I'm not quite sure how it works with ones that have air bags... strange indeed...
I'll try to get an inside shot for you on the weekend...
kind regards,

The Aussies will be no help! Their steering column is different. I tried already
. There is an adapter that will work, and it's made by Pilot, I think. I have one, but unfortunatly, it's been packed in a box for 2 years now, and I have no clue where it is. By the time I locate it, this thread will be long closed..........

well the reason I wanted to know was my airbag was deployed and I never got it repacked. I wanted to just replace the hole steering wheel instead of fixing it. any hints on where to buy the wheel and adapter from?

I think that every late 80s Mazda adaptor will work on a bf, IDK how similar it will be to a Capri though.

TimmyGT-
Let me check my stock, and see what I have laying around. I just might have a decent wheel. Do you have cruise control?

Do you need the whole wheel, or just the bag? I have 8-10 bags laying around, as well!

so I ended up just replacing the airbag on the car because that was the easiest way about this. I picked up the bag from a junk yard for $20 and it is at the shop right now getting it put in.

So if we have an airbag and we want to replace the stock wheel to aftermarket, then we are pretty much screwed? I hate airbags, and would love to remove mine and run an aftermarket steering wheel, pref a removable one.
So give me some good news? hah
