Car covers and paint damage
« on: July 14, 2004, 05:19:00 PM »

Before I had my cordoba repainted I put a basic autozone or pep boys $79.99 car cover on it.
After a few weeks I noticed it had developed spots on the car that wouldn't come off with washing and waxing.
I'd have been real pissed but I knew I was having it repainted.

Now that the paint job has been done about 6 months ago, I'm too worried to put that cover back on.
Do I need to buy a $200 cover?
This so fla sun is really drying her out and she's too big for my garage, which is already housing my challenger and one of my capri's.

Any suggestions on car covers???????????

Buy some land, build a garage, a BIG one     But seriously, I would try and talk to people that use car covers and have experienced different ones and get their opinions.

I had one for the Jetta, used it for about two weeks, but every day I'd have to go out and put it back on the right way.  Finally got sick of doing it, and now it sits in my garage.

Well I will leave it on for weeks at a time as my red capri is my daily driver and the challenger is my day off driver.

The black capri sits in the garage, retired till winter when I will switch insurance with the red capri and retire the red capri for the winter.

The green capri is the wife's daily driver so the cordoba gets driven 1 day per month.

To me, the worst part of a car cover is the visability, or lack thereof.
I want to be able to see my babies.

Anyway, I bought a cover today for $212.
It's a covercraft model 400.
Supposed to be their top of the line.
I will wash and wax the doba 2nite and put it on.
Wish me luck.
